Present Time and Mental Illness

So many times I've heard old people say "There were no mental sickness in our time. Everybody was working, had kiddos and family. Kids these days don't know any responsibility."

Let me tell you my opinion.

Maybe in the times of our grandparents wasn't any mental illness, maybe people were happier because there was no internet and no technology like notebooks, iPhones etc. No social websites. People had a completely different issues.

But let's just deal with the fact we live in the "future" of our grams and grandparents. Time has growned up really, really fast and it's growning more. We never saw the point when it all broke in half, it just happened.

People wanted to make their jobs easier, faster and way more perfect so they came with machines. Why wait for the letter when we can come with the social websites? Why buy books when we can read everything on Google? Why go out when we can talk with the other people on Kik?

I think people are losing the real touch from the reality. But it's time that is so rushed. There's strong pressure that is pushing us forward. When you don't have Facebook, you don't exist. How can I stay in touch with you when you don't have any app? When you don't own the newest model of iPhone or Macbook, you're out or poor.

Not everyone can stand this procedure and some of us is being lost in the thoughts, trying to distance from the technology that is chasing us down. Some of us wants a life in which we are not being stalked. I think it's all made of the house cards, builded on a very fragile ground that is going to fall when we least expect it.

Do you remember when Facebook and Instagram had a huge blackout like three weeks ago? Thousands of people became depressed because of their addiction. Thousands of people panicked "Everything is gone, all my likes!". People already lost their connection to the real world and they don't appreciate what was given to us - the most important thing love.

I'm speaking out because I've seen many people freaking out. I've seen many people trying to disconnect from all the technology. When I'm writing this article, I feel like I'm beyond the curtain, watching all that theatre.

It's very depressing and frustrating when people don't want to meet because they can chat. Many times I wanted to stay in touch through the letters. But people weren't willing to, because the correspondence is expensive in their eyes. But! Have you forgot all the euphory when you receive a letter after days or weeks of waiting and checking the mails at our doors?

Maybe the good old times are gone. We are addicted on money and a technology. Because without it, we don't exist. We don't want children because we need money to make our lives comfortable. We can't live without a technology because we need to stay in touch with our coworkers in the case if something has happened.

Sometimes I feel like I live in some twisted Black Mirror episode.

Now it's like - we need to do something and get a future better or we kill the world that gave us a life.

Just don't say that we're spoiled, lazy generation. Some of us are willing to get the world back.
